Chicken Hamonado: A Sulit Silog Meal

Gusto ko talaga gumawa ng chicken tocino kaso may mali sa ginawa ko. Nung naluto lasa siyang hamonado na ginagawa ng papa ko pag pasko. So there, the chicken hamonado was born.

Yung fried rice, gusto ko may color kaya hinaluan ng frozen veggies. You can turn it into yang chow rice with shrimp and scrambled eggs but it's too costly af.

Makes 2-3 servings (total of P125.00 w/o aioli )

Chicken Hamonado
250g boneless chicken breast, cut into 2-inch pieces (breast or thigh-P58.75, P235/kg)
60ml/1/4 cup pineapple juice/pineapple syrup (P24/240ml can, P6.00 for 60ml)
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3 cloves garlic (P5)

Fried Rice
2 1/2 cups cooked rice (P25, P10/cup)
3 cloves garlic (P5)
1/4 cup/40g  mixed vegetables (P54/400g= P5.40)
1 tbsp butter (P89/cup= P5.60)
Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp oil (P25/300ml=P1.25/tbsp)

2-3 fresh eggs (to be fried or scrambled) (P6.50/egg= P13 for two)

Aioli: (optional)
30ml mayonnaise (P10)
1 clove garlic, finely minced (P1.50)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sriracha or hot sauce (optional)

Step 1: Marinade yah chicken
Slice your chicken into bite-sized pieces, about 2-inch width so that it won't shrink too much. Combine all ingredients in a bowl, and marinade in the fridge/chiller section for 2 hrs or overnight.

Step 2. Fry them in some oil, but don't include too much of the marinade-- it'll make your meal CancerLite™ (as shown below).

I used a non-stick pan so kaunting oil. You fry it like how you fry your tocino. Or if you want, bake that, put it in a toaster, a grill. All up to you. After cooking, set it aside.

Step 3: Make the Garlic Fried Rice.
Melt some butter, lightly fry the garlic and add the mixed veggies. Season it with a few pinches of salt and pepper before adding the rice. Saute it until the rice becomes fragrant, about 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: Fry up some eggs!
Scrambled, sunny-side up or poached, you're the master of  your eggs. I like mine with a runny yolk. Used to hate it but hey, I got some practice having runny stuff. LOLJK SPG AUQ NA MAGJOKE.

OK so bonus: Aioli dip.
Mix them all in a bowl. Serve with your chicken hamonado. Pwede rin suka na lang din with subuyas, bawang and patis!

There you have it! A meal for two for less than P150 pesos. Would be cheaper if your items/ingredients are sourced in bulk. Enjoy!!!!
